Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited collects ASD charges BESCOM to protect itself from delayed and default payments. Usually, consumers are given a thirty days notice to pay their default electricity bill. After the grace period ends, the connection is disconnected.

  When is ASD charged?

Homeowners on Sarjapur Road got a notice to pay an additional security deposit BESCOM. Usually, a security deposit is collected when a new connection is issued. I read in an article that “The Additional Security Deposit is the difference between the security deposit that BESCOM has and what they are meant to have in correlation with consumers’ present billing”.

  How is ASD calculated?

The amount is calculated on the average bill amount corresponding to two months in the case of monthly billing, and on the average bill amount corresponding to four months in the case of bi-monthly billing. For instance, if the average bill amount corresponding for 2 months is Rs 1,500, where monthly billing is approx. Rs 750, then the consumer is liable to give Rs 1,500 (750×2) as a deposit. If there is a hike in the unit price rise or due to an increase in the consumption of power, the ASD will also change.

Consumers can pay ASD just as the regular electricity bill at one of BESCOM’s sub-divisional offices or the BESCOM website:

www.bescom.co.in

Your ASD in electricity bill will be given at the bottom of the electricity bill. I hope my answer solved your queries.

ASD full form in electricity bill is "Additional Security Deposit". In the context of a BESCOM (Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited) bill, ASD is an additional fee that the power company assesses as a security deposit to some customers. With customers that have inconsistent payment histories or high energy use, ASD is meant to reduce any potential financial concerns for the electricity company.

Now that I have told you ASD full form in electrical, let me tell you that BESCOM may ask for an additional security deposit if a customer's electricity usage is judged to be high or if there have been previous instances of late bill payments. The average monthly bill of the consumer or a particular percentage of the anticipated annual consumption is typically used to determine the ASD amount.

Hey,

As a consumer, we end up paying more than our electricity bill to the state-governed electricity board. We pay installation charges, registration charges, security, base charge and ASD BESCOM. The charge amount differs from residential to commercial properties. I will share details about it below.

What ASD payment BESCOM?

BESCOM and other electricity providers have levied a charge known as Additional Security Deposit (or ASD on customers. This charge protects BESCOM from incurring a loss when customers don't pay their electricity bills. This bill is mandatory.

What is BESCOM ASD payment amount?

Residential customers are required to pay an ASD fee that can range anywhere from Rs 850 to about Rs 10,000. Whereas, industrial or commercial customers might have to pay an ASD fee of about Rs 5 lakh.

The consumption pattern is calculated according to electricity usage and the pattern of the individual on a monthly basis.

You can pay the ASD amount in its entirety on the BESCOM website at www.bescom.co.in.

Just go on the payment portal and make payment for all the recurring charges. Once this is done, you will only have to pay the monthly electricity bill.

If you are renting out a property, you should know that the property owner has to pay the ASD charge. As the Service Connection stands will be in the name of the owner. The tenant will only have to pay the electricity bill according to the metre.

This is all I know about ASD BESCOM.

ASD is nothing but Additional Security Deposit. Now you must be thinking that you have already paid the security deposit so why is BESCOM asking for Additional Security Deposit? Well, you should know that BESCOM keeps the security deposit corresponding to the average bill amount of 2 months.

Consider your average bill amount is Rs. 1000, so the deposit amount will be Rs. 2000 (1000 x 2).

Now in case of increase in unit price or additional prices in electricity, your bill amount climbs to Rs. 1200 avg. per month. So the deposit shall increase to Rs. 2400 (1200 x 2). The difference of Rs. 400 in this case will be asked for by BESCOM under ADS.

You can pay the ASD amount with regular electricity bill or by visiting the BESCOM office.

I hope now you are clear about what is ASD in BESCOM bill.
