A few months ago, I noticed that my bedroom had gotten very cluttered, so I thought that it was about time I gave my bedroom a thorough deep cleaning. But it’s such a huge project I didn’t know where to start. My husband suggested that I should make a bedroom cleaning checklist to keep it all organised and ensure I didn’t miss anything. This made the process a lot manageable and simpler. 

What is Included in the Bedroom Cleaning List?

• I began by decluttering first. I cleaned through everything in my closet, dresser and bedside table, getting rid of unnecessary stuff that didn't belong there like old magazines, papers and clothes that I hadn't worn in a long time.

• Then, I did a quick but thorough dusting of every surface, starting from the top with ceiling fans and shelves, and then working my way down to the rest of the furniture. For this I used a microfiber towel.

• I then cleaned the floors, being careful to reach under the bed and into corners where a lot of dust accumulates. 

• After all this is done, next comes changing the bedding. I took the old sheets off the bed and put on new, freshly washed ones.

• I finally finished by organising my personal items, like books and other decorations, making sure that everything was in its place.

• I start by taking out the trash. I clear away any trash like discarded tags or snack wrappers and replace the trash bag with a new liner, which I keep handy at the bottom of the bin.

• Next, I pick up any dirty clothes and toss them into a hamper. I also put away clean clothes that are lying around. I fold them and neatly place them in drawers or hang them in the closet, ensuring that everything is organized for a clutter-free look.

• Then, I strip the bed, removing the comforter, sheets, and pillowcases for washing. I keep an extra set of sheets handy to remake the bed while the others are in the wash.

• After that, I focus on clearing surface clutter from nightstands, dressers, and desks. I put items back where they belong and consider creating a system for frequently-used things to keep surfaces tidy.

• Next, I wipe down all surfaces, including furniture, bed posts, and headboards, using appropriate cleaners. I also make sure to dust curtains, light fixtures, and ceiling fans to remove any accumulated dust.

• I wipe down windows and mirrors with a streak-free cleaner, especially targeting lower areas for smudges. Then, I vacuum the floors, making sure to get under the bed and furniture. Finally, I remake the bed with fresh sheets.

• Use a glass cleaner to clean the mirror that is present in my bedroom.

• I also clean the light fixtures and make sure all of the bulbs are operational.

• I clean and arrange the bedside table’s drawers.

• Finally, I spray air fresheners

Sometimes for thorough, and more comprehensive cleanup, I add shampooing carpets, and wall washing, to my bedroom clean up checklist.

I take around 45 minutes to finish off with this entire bedroom cleaning checklist.

I cannot express the satisfaction that I receive after cleaning my bedroom. This also induces good sleep.
