Hi Swaran, I can tell you what is false ceiling design. A false ceiling, also known as a dropped ceiling, is a ceiling that hangs beneath the actual ceiling of your room. It is artificial and has the primary purpose of adding beauty to a space.

False ceilings are made up of materials like Pop, wood, PVC and more. The ability to mould these materials into any shape or pattern makes them suitable for this job. 

The materials are lightweight, making the installation easy and dust-free.  

What is a False Ceiling Design Material Types?

I believe it will help you to know the popular materials used in making false ceilings in depth. Their characteristics differ from one another, and getting to know them will help you choose the ideal material for your false ceiling.

1. Plaster of Paris: This is a widely preferred false ceiling material, mainly because of the smooth finish it offers. Its moulding capability is amazing, so you can make any shape with PoP. The ease of levelling is another advantage.  It also gives good insulation. Hence, it will reduce both heat and cold reduction during the right times. 

2. Gypsum: This material is lightweight, with a great design appeal. It is a good choice for false ceilings in terms of safety as the material is fire, sound and moisture-resistant. 

3. Wooden: The natural texture of wood adds to its beauty. It presents a classic appearance and comes with brilliant sound absorption. The wooden false ceiling is on the expensive side. But it also works towards reducing your electricity bill by trapping heat and reducing the room temperature.

1. Gypsum Board: It is lightweight and easy to install. They are very heat, sound, moisture, and fire-resistant and thus are very famous for false ceilings.

2. Grid False Ceiling: These are most frequently used to make false ceilings in commercial properties since they are most suitable for a larger range of installations. They do not require a lot of maintenance and can be very economical.

3. Plaster of Paris (POP): It is very affordable and gives a very smooth finished look. It can be very easily customized and is very lightweight.

4. Plywood Ceiling: They have the best visual appeal and are also very strong and solid. But they are not very pocket friendly and require a lot of maintenance.

5. PVC False Ceiling: They are very climate-friendly and lightweight. These do not require a lot of maintenance and are also very economical.
