What is Interior Design Cost for 2 BHK in Chennai?

My kitchen was pretty old and I decided to get it redesigned a few weeks back. I got in touch with an interior designer to learn about the 2BHK Interior design cost in Chennai. The interior designer revealed to me that the total price would be somewhere between Rs. 4 Lakhs to Rs. 5 Lakhs. Following this, I opted for their service.

After the completion of the interior work, I had to pay around Rs. 4.67 Lakhs. Within this amount, I was able to get

• A stylish modular kitchen

• Two wardrobes

• A TV unit for my living room

• A Puja room decor

• Some extra storage space. 

The material used by them was MDF. The interior designer had also told me that if I opted for the premium service, then the price would have been somewhere between Rs. 6 Lakhs to Rs. 7 Lakhs. 

Since that wasn’t under my budget, I had to opt for the regular service. I hope this information about the interior design cost helps.

• He said the price depends on the scope of the design. For example, if I plan to do civil, plumbing, and electrical works, the price will increase. Similarly, the price would be much less if I was only planning to get wardrobes, kitchens, and storage done. 

• Renovation work will cost more as it includes demolition, without which new work can’t be done. 

• The type of finish also decides whether the price will increase or not. Acrylic finish is low maintenance but expensive, Laminate is sturdy and affordable, and Membrane requires a lot of maintenance but has a seamless finish. 

• Locality and design can also affect the cost of interior design.
