As someone who has moved from one rented house to another. I have gathered information about the Tenancy Act India through research and personal experience. In this segment, I will cover the meaning and important clauses. Keep reading to know more.

What is landlord tenant law ?

Landlord/Tenant law pertains to legal rules and regulations about all aspects of renting a property. Details about the rent, rental period, complete address, type of property, etc are mentioned in the Tenancy Act.

 

The landlord and tenant act was put in place to ensure the interests of both the parties ie the landlords and tenants were being safeguarded. The act further details all activities and actions that are legal and illegal during the period of tenancy. 

In my opinion, the most important clauses in the Tenancy Act India are given below :

  •  Repairs and maintenance

  •  Eviction.

  •  Lease Period 

  •  Rental Amount

  •  Rental Cycle etc.
