In my opinion, the quickest method of sending money to India is through the Money Transfer System Scheme. You've come to the right place if you're unsure of how to transfer cash to India through the Money Transfer Service Scheme from overseas. I am here to guide you about the money transfer service scheme.

Choose NoBroker to pay the utility bills and get rewarded with decent cashback. Opt for a NoBroker home loan and pay the lowest interest in the town.

What is MTSS full form in banking?

The money transfer service scheme is a quick and easy way to send money from overseas to Indian recipients. Purely internal personal transfers to India, such as funds for family support and transfers in support of foreign visitors, are permitted.

What are the properties of MTSS?

  • Maximum transfer with a $2500 dollar cap.

  • Cash payments up to Rs. 50,000 are accepted. Any sum in excess of Rs. 50,000 must be paid via check, DD, PO, or direct credit to the beneficiary's bank.

  • Each beneficiary is limited to 30 transactions per year.

  • The beneficiary is not charged for the transfer, which is solely made in INR.

  • It is dependable, prompt, and practical.

  • It is a simple, immediate payment made to the beneficiary in exchange for a photo ID.

  • These internal transfers are not intended to be recovered under the approach.

  • The MTSS can only be used to send personal transfers, such as those for personal costs and those that benefit foreign visitors to India.

How does the MTSS scheme operate?

1) When you are a transferee:

  • Go to a nearby Money Transfer location

  • Fill out the form and send it together with a passport or driver's licence as proof of identity.

  • You should send the money to the agent, and obtain the transaction reference number.

  • Inform the beneficiary of the transaction information.

2) When you are a beneficiary:

  • Request the transferee’s reference number.

  • Go inside the closest SIB branch.

  • Finalise the payment, obtain the form, provide the information requested, and provide a valid ID.

  • Collect the money in the local currency.

This is all I had to say about the money transfer service scheme.
