As a kid whenever I used to see buildings I used to wonder how sand can hold such a strong and big structure and all of the people living in that structure. As I grew up I realised that there are so many other materials that go into the construction of a building. But still, sand is one of the most important materials. I will tell you everything I know about P sand meaning.

  • P sand is a type of sand which is considered to be natural sand and is used for plastering purposes and masonry work in the construction of buildings.

  • P sand is usually obtained from the River. This is the reason why P sand is also known as Jamuna sand.

  • P sand is quite famous for its consistency and the fine and smooth texture it has.

  • P sand creates a very smooth finish on the walls through plasterwork and it can also be used as a base material for starting brickwork.

This is what P sand means.

Psand full form

P sand stands for plastering sand. After giving a smooth texture to the surface on which P sand is applied, it is also used for making concrete and mortar. But you should also keep in mind that P sand is not a preferred material for concrete work because P sand may have some impurities in it like organic matter, clay, silt and salt as it is obtained from the river. This may compromise the durability of concrete work.

I hope I was able to explain to you

What is the M sand and P sand difference?

1) M Sand
  • M-Sand has balanced physical and chemical properties that can withstand any extreme environmental and climatic circumstances. It is because of its improved durability, greater strength, and overall economy.

  • Chemically stable sands generate concrete with greater durability and higher strength by overcoming faults including segregation, bleeding, honeycombing, voids, and capillary. It is due to their superior shape, ideal fines gradation, smooth surface texture, and consistency in production parameters.

2) P Sand
  • P-sand or plastering manufactured sand can be produced nearby, cutting transportation costs, effectively employing it to create high-value products, and maintaining a consistent supply.

  • P-Sand is free of clay and soil particles and has a tighter particle packing than natural sand. Also, it provides greater unit weight and decreased abrasion resistance.
