While getting our house painted, I enquired about the painting rates in Mumbai and learned that they vary based on the type of painting you are opting for. It starts from around Rs 12 and can go up to Rs 41 per sq ft. I have the painting price list with me, so you can take a look at it below to have a better understanding of the rates.

What are the Painting Charges in Mumbai?

Hi Riya, I can share the painting charges in Mumbai with you. I got my house painted a while ago and got a few painting quotes. For a fresh house painting, you can expect to pay Rs. 27 to Rs. 41 per square foot in Mumbai. I will share the cost of painting in detail below.

What is the House Painting Cost in Mumbai?

I have the painting cost inclusive of the labour cost for different paint types below.

PaintType

Cost of painting per square foot

Distemper

Rs. 7 - 10

Enamel

Rs. 10 - 15

Emulsion

Rs. 14 - 60

Luster

Rs. 32 - 40

Interior Texture

Rs. 80 - 300

How to Calculate the Painting Rate Per Square Foot in Mumbai?

I guess it will help to share the way through which you can calculate the painting cost.

  1. Start by measuring the length and breadth of the walls in square feet. Multiply the length and breadth together.

  2. Calculate the length and breadth of the windows, doors and other areas that won’t be painted in square feet.

  3. Subtract the non-paintable area of the windows, doors, etc, from the paintable areas, i.e. the walls.

  4. You will then get the printable area for each space. Divide this number by the coverage of the paint you choose.

  5. This will give you the paint needed for each room. You can then multiply the total paint needed in litres by the cost of 1 litre paint to get the material cost.

This is all from my side. I hope this helps.
