What is RAPDRP in electricity bill?Earlier known as Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Program (APDRP), RAPDRP means Restructured Accelerated Power Development & Reforms Program (R-APDRP) . This programme was launched as the Central Sector Scheme. The main objective of this scheme is to decrease the Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses in the power sector and improve the quality and efficiency of power resources by establishing and upgrading the sub-transmission and distribution system of State Power Utilities. This is what RAPDR means.
Objectives of RAPDRP:To financially flow by decreasing Transmission & Distribution (T&D) losses.
To get the current Aggregate Technical and commercial (AT&T) from 24% loss mark to below 15%.
To use advanced Information Technology.
To overcome challenges related to worn-out equipment, inadequate infrastructure in substations, defective metre reading, theft and burglary.
To help sub-transmission and distribution network upgrade especially towns and industrial hubs.
To keep control of voltage fluctuations by focusing on the quality and permanence of power supply.
This scheme is divided into two parts.
Part A- This portion focuses on the Energy Accounting and Auditing of the Baseline data with IT applications and SCADA-DMS based larger consumer Service Centres.
Part B- This portion helps in electrical network improvement, augmentation, distribution and strengthening.
