Hello! We were looking to change the structure of my house and thus decided to call the home renovation experts for the same. We were thinking of modernising our house. At the time, we wanted the quality of the output to be strong and long lasting. That is when we asked one of the workers about what is the ratio for mixing concrete out of curiosity. He told us the standard benchmark. Let me share the same with you.

What is the ratio of concrete

Going by industry standards, the ideal and safest cement mix ratio for all types of concrete is 4:2:1. This simply refers to mixing 4 parts of crushed stones, 2 parts of sand and 1 part of cement to create the mix to be used in several construction projects. This is the standard ratio for all purposes.

Concrete mixture ratio for inner and outer plastering

Let’s look at the cement mix ratio when it comes to plastering inner brick walls and outer brick walls.

For inner plastering, mix cement and sand in the ratio of 1:6 respectively.

For outer plastering, mix cement and sand in the ratio of 1:4 respectively.

Here, note that the plaster’s thickness should be inside 15mm.

I hope you now know what is the best ratio for concrete.

To make concrete a lot of ingredients are mixed to make it strong. Some of the ingredients used to make concrete are cement, sand, gravel, and water. The ratio of each item varies as per the type of construction and the mixed designs of the materials. There are building codes that provide guidelines for nominal, standard concrete mix ratios. Let us learn about what is ratio of concrete for each material.

Since we are talking about concrete let us understand what is the ratio of m15 concrete since it is used for the construction of buildings. The ratio of M 15 grade of concrete mix is 1:2:4 which includes 1 part cement, 2 part sand, and 4 part aggregate. Apart from that water is used to make the concrete. I will share with you a chart so that you can understand it better.

What is the mix ratio of grade 25 concrete?

M 25 will fall into the category of standard mix concrete ratio. The ratio of M 25 concrete is 1:2:2 where 1 part is cement, 2 parts is sand, and 2 parts is aggregate. I will again provide a chart with other standard-grade concrete mixes so that you can get a better idea about the ratio.
