What is sandblasting meaning?
It is a process wherein fine particles of an abrasive material usually metallic) are propelled with the help of an electric blaster. This way paint, rust, and the residue are quickly removed from oxidised materials. This process is usually done before the painting has begun. I have seen workshop workers use this process to strip old paint from machinery and metal.
It also removes grease spots from any metal surface. It also helps primer bond to the surface better. Without all the dirt, it becomes easier for the paint to glide onto the surface. If the surface is uneven then the painted surface will look bumpy.
Though, you will need to get sandblasting done by a trained professional. It can be dangerous when done by an amateur. Usually, an air compressor is used to propel blast abrasive grains through a nozzle at high velocity onto your project surface. This way, all the unwanted coating, and corrosion is broken down and removed from the project surface.
This is all from my end on what is sandblasting.
