Hey,

There is a lot of legal and real estate jargon in contracts regarding the property. Whenever I read a contract, it takes me time to understand the meaning and its intention. Since many people have to deal with Settlement deed rules. I will share the meaning and important details in the paragraph below.

Meaning :

It is a legal document that allows both parties to settle their dispute or difference regarding an immovable property. Though, a settlement deed can be created for a movable property as well. If the deed is created to solve a dispute amongst family members, it is known as a  family settlement deed. It is usually drawn up when there is a property dispute because of the division of property.

For a settlement deed between brothers to be valid, it needs to be written in a contract and needs to be registered under the rightful authority. It then becomes legally enforceable. Fee examples where the deed is needed are court cases, property division, and payments settlement.
