Wondering, what is Suvarna Khata? Suvarna Khata is a method of applying for a Khata (property account) through which you can obtain a Khata from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) within seven days. This streamlined process was launched in 2006 to simplify the khata application process and reduce corruption at BBMP’s revenue offices.

What is the Suvarna Khata Meaning?

Here’s how it works:

  • Application Process: You can apply for Suvarna Khata at the single-window counters at the office of the Assistant Revenue Officers (ARO) in BBMP. The Suvarna Khata scheme aims to make it easier for citizens to obtain their property khatas without unnecessary delays.

  • Documents Required: Depending on the nature of the property transaction, you’ll need specific documents. Here are two common scenarios:

Through Sale Deed:

  1. Sale deed

  2. Tax paid receipt (for the current year)

  3. Encumbrance Certificate (Form-15) from the date of the sale deed to the current date.

Through Inheritance (Will): Previous title deed or possession certificate (in case of allotment by a government agency).

I hope this helps you understand what is Suvarna Khata.
