What is the construction of building cost per sft in Delhi?

Many of us dream of constructing a house in the capital. I will share my predictions on construction cost in Delhi. Per square feet construction cost in Delhi varies in different areas. Location, cost of labour, construction material, etc. are a few factors that impact the price. Keep reading to know more.

On average, the construction cost can range anywhere from Rs. 1,200 to Rs. 4,000 or more, depending on the type of building and the quality of materials used. Prime localities such as Lajpat Nagar and Greater Kailash are considered to be more expensive, with construction costs ranging from Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 3,000 per sft. Meanwhile, areas such as Uttam Nagar and Dwarka are considered to be more affordable, with construction costs ranging from Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 2,000 per sft.

Here is the breakdown of construction cost per sq ft in Delhi for you in brief:

• Labour costs

  : This includes the cost of hiring workers, such as masons, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc. The average labour cost per day can range from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,500.

• Material costs

  : This includes the cost of materials such as cement, steel, bricks, tiles, etc. The cost of materials is based on quality and location, but on average, it can range from Rs. 500 to Rs. 2,000 per sft.

• Equipment costs

  : This includes the cost of renting equipment, such as cranes, bulldozers, excavators, etc. 

• Design and planning costs

  : This includes the cost of hiring architects, engineers, other people to design and plan the building. The cost of design and planning can range from Rs. 50 to Rs. 150 per sft.

• Overhead costs:
