I lived in Pune for 4 years and with whatever little experience I have, I would say that the cost of living in Pune for single person really depends on a few things. It can vary based on your accommodation preferences, lifestyle choices, spending habits, investments, etc. Generally, it can cost around Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 60,000 overall in my experience. Let me break it down for you.
Cost of Living in Pune for Bachelor
I will break down the cost of living in Pune into 7 parts for your understanding.
Accommodation: The expenses on accommodation for me were Rs. 15000 per month. I was sharing a 2.5 BHK flat with 2 friends. This was my rental share.
Utility: This landed somewhere around Rs. 2000 per month. I have included my share of electricity, water, gas and garbage collection charges.
Internet: I was paying Rs. 450 from my share for wifi. Apart from this, I have a prepaid plan which costs around Rs. 300 per month.
Food and Groceries: We generally cooked meals at home so the overall grocery bill on my tab was around Rs. 8000 per month.
Transportation: I have a bike on rent so the overall cost was somewhere around Rs. 3500 per month including rent and fuel charges.
Medical expenses: People often overlook these expenses but if you look into it, they sit somewhere around Rs. 1000 (based on overall estimation)
Entertainment and miscellaneous expenses: I will add Gym expenses, movie outings, restaurant bills, etc. in this and overall I ended up paying Rs. 5000 per month.
You can modify your expenses and bring down the cost of living in Pune for a bachelor a little lower.
