My colleague told me that the price varies depending on the type of charge that I need. According to him, there are three levels of chargers, which I have mentioned below.
Level 1 Charger: He said that this is the slowest type of charger and generally comes with the EV. According to him, this has a standard 120-volt household outlet and can take up to 20 hours to fully charge the EV. The cost of installing it is around Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 25,000.
Level 2 Charger: My colleague told me that Level 2 Chargers are much faster than Level 1’s, and they can charge the EV within four to six hours. This costs around Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 1.5 Lakhs, depending on the complexity of the installation.
DC Fast Charger: He told me that this is the fastest type of charger and can provide 80 percent charge in around 20-30 minutes. The price to install EV charger at home is around Rs. 15 Lakhs to Rs. 80 Lakhs.
