Both of these are Andhra Pradesh State Government-owned power distribution companies. However, the main thing to note is that APCPDCL came into being by the bifurcation of the APSPDCL. I shall tell you more below.
Differences Between APSPDCL and APCPDCL
The APSPDCL was the one that was originally formed on April 1, 2000 to serve in the districts of Guntur, Krishna, Nellore, Chittoor, Prakasam and Kadapa.
On March 31, 2020, post grant of f distribution license to APCPDCL by Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC), distribution of power in Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts shifted out of APSPDCL.
These two have a major difference in the composition of districts within them. At present, APSPDCL and APCPDCL have the following districts under them:
