For transfer of flat ownership and membership before the housing society is formed from the builder, you will need to have a conveyance deed. Conveyance deed is nothing but a final document which a builder has to give while transferring the ownership of land. This is important as the housing society you are living in is on the land that is bought by the builder. After a certain period, the builder transfers ownership of the land to the society that is formed which consists of all the owners of the building. Once you (the society) has all the documents, you (the society) can apply for the registration of the housing society. For the registration process of Co-op. Hsg. Society documents should be filed to Dy. Registrar / Asst. Registrar of Co-operative Department area concern. After the document verification, the Dy. Registrar / Asst. Registrar will give the society the approval of formation of the Co-op housing society. After this, the conveyance deed comes handy while transfer of ownership along with the title deed and other documents.
