= appliance power rating x duration of use (hours)

Let me explain this with an example. Suppose your washing machine consumes 2000 watts of power for cleaning, washing and drying your clothes. If you use your washing machine 2 times a week for a minimum of 2 hours per wash, then it would mean that the washing machine is being used for 4 hours in one week. This means it is being used for 16 hours in a month.

So, for 1 month the washing machine power consumption will be 2000 watts x 16 hours = 32,000 watts = 32 kWh.

The power consumption of Samsung washing machine 7 kg is a maximum of 2000 watts– 2500 watts. The power consumption for one hour of use of the washing machine will be 2 kWh or 2 units of electricity.
