The 7th level of any high-rise structure constructed beyond the first 24 metres must include a designated refuge place, according to the revised criteria for refuge areas. The first refuge must be situated at the 24-metre level or at the first livable floor, whichever is higher if the building is taller than 30 metres. Every seventh storey after the first should have the same refuge area in the structure.
