Hey there,

I see you want to know the registration charges and stamp duty levied on property in Mumbai. The charges and duty differ from one state to another i.e. stamp duty levied in Delhi will be different from stamp duty levied in karnataka. Take a look below to know registration charges for property in Mumbai.

The High court ruling on non-payment of stamp duty is applicable only on inadequately stamped past property documents.

Registration Charge :

The total cost of your property is more than Rs. 30 lakhs . then the You will have to pay 1% of the total cost of the property as  registration charge in Mumbai. If the property costs more than Rs. 30 lakhs then the registration charge will be capped at Rs 30,000.

Stamp duty :

The stamp duty for a property located in an Urban area will be 5% of the property's market value.

Residential plots or lands are not eligible for tax deduction under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act. I hope my answer was helpful.
