What is the Stamp Duty and Registration charges for resale house property? Is it under 80c Or Not ?

Hey there,

The High court ruling on non-payment of stamp duty is applicable only on inadequately stamped past property documents.

Registration Charge :

The total cost of your property is more than Rs. 30 lakhs . then the You will have to pay 1% of the total cost of the property as  registration charge in Mumbai. If the property costs more than Rs. 30 lakhs then the registration charge will be capped at Rs 30,000.

Stamp duty :

The stamp duty for a property located in an Urban area will be 5% of the property's market value.
