Hi Komal, the standard mirror sizes for bathrooms are 30 to 48 inches wide by 24 inches tall. I have a mirror approximately the same size. Since we got our bathroom renovated two weeks ago, I can tell you about the mirror size in detail. Let me share everything with you.

What is the Standard Size of Bathroom Mirror?

When you’re looking to install a mirror above your bathroom vanity, place it 2 to 4 inches narrower than your vanity. The vanity is the space above your sink. If you have a space which is 24 inches wide, the mirror should be between 20 to 24 inches in breadth.

When you do so, there is enough space left to frame your mirror and give it some added style. So, the wider the vanity, i.e. the space above your sink, the larger should be the mirror you place.

Talking about the shower wall mirrors, these come in a different standard size, which is smaller than a standard wall mirror.

This is all about the standard size bathroom mirror. I hope you find this helpful.

How to design a bathroom laundry room?

My sister just announced plans to renovate her bathroom. She then contacted me to ask my sister in law, who works as a renovator, and she informed her that the standard bathroom mirror dimensions tend to change based on aspects like the homeowner's preference and the size of the bathroom. She did, however, offer a rough range, which I have outlined below, that most common bathroom mirrors fall inside.

What is the Standard Mirror Height in Bathroom?

A typical bathroom mirror measures around 24 inches in width and 34 inches in height. This size fits nicely within the bathroom layout and offers decent aesthetics. It gives you ample area to see yourself properly. Moreover, it's crucial to remember that the placement and function of the mirror in the bathroom can also have an impact on its conventional size.

The most typical mirror sizes for the various types of mirrors, my uncle suggested are as follows:

Mirror Type Standard Size

Wall Mirror

24 inches by 34 inches

Interior Closet Door Mirror

18 inches by 36 inches

Shower Wall Mirror

12 inches high by 24 inches wide

Wall Mounted Bathroom Vanity Mirrors

30 to 48 inches wide by 24 inches tall

Finally, I informed my sister and she decided to buy a wall mirror. I hope you get an idea of the standard bathroom mirror height.

I have recently shifted to a new house and I am planning to buy a mirror for my bathroom as the last one broke while relocating. I believe no bathroom is complete without a mirror. The mirror plays an important part in daily grooming activities, such as styling hair, applying makeup, shaving, and more. This is why we should know about the standard bathroom mirror size.

Buying the right size of mirror to suit our needs is an art itself. I did not know the standard mirror size for bathroom so I called my interior designer friend yesterday to know more about the same. He told me that picking the best proportionate mirror for your bathroom can be challenging. There ain’t any wrong sizes when it comes to picking a mirror, but here are some tips that will help you get on the right track:

The standard bathroom vanity sizes are 24-inch, 30-inch, 36-inch, and 48-inch wide for single sink vanities and 60-inch and 72-inch for double sink vanities. The standard bathroom vanity depth is 21-inch and the standard vanity heights are 36 and 32 inches.

In general, a vanity mirror should measure a couple of inches fewer than your vanity sink area. For instance, you should pair a 30-inch wide vanity with a 26-inch to 28-inch wide mirror. As far as the height is concerned, it depends on your personal eye level and your ceiling height. Standard vanity mirrors are generally 28-34 inches high.

Tips:
  • Hang the mirror 5-inch to 10-inch above the sink.

  • Hang the mirror a couple of inches above the faucet’s highest part.

  • Center the mirror in between the sink and the vanity lighting.
