I learned about the guest room standard size during our new house construction. Our engineer wanted to allocate specific areas to the different rooms and share with us their sizes as well. If you are planning to construct a guest room too, let me share what its ideal size should be. In India,

the standard size of a guest room can be 10ft X 12ft

.

What is the Standard Guest Room Size?

The standard size of guest bedroom is 3000mm (10ft) X 3600mm (12ft). Also, make sure that the guest room is

  • Disconnected from inside of the house

  • It must have a separate bathroom and water closet

  • The guest room should ideally be in the northwest, as per Vastu

  • Vastu also states that the guest room should be built above the kitchen in case it is on the upper floors

  • The bed in the guest room should be placed in the northwest corner

  • Wardrobe and heavy furniture should be in the south, southwest or west of the room

So these are some really helpful tips our engineer shared and we followed.
