There are multiple challenges that I’ve faced while getting my house constructed. One of them was choosing a wash basin according to the aesthetics of the house. I asked my uncle who is a plumber about what would be the best size of wash basin. He visited my house and told me about the standard size of wash basin.

What are the Standard Wash Basin Dimensions?

My uncle told me that a wall-hung wash basin would look very nice with the aesthetics of my house. Following this, he provided me with the average wash basin measurements and I’ve added all those in a table below.

Shortest  Longest  Average
Height

90 mm

100 mm

95 mm

Width

140 mm

500 mm

320 mm

Length

370 mm

1200 mm

785 mm

Depth

70 mm

180 mm

125 mm

He suggested that I choose either the longest or average size as both would fit very nicely. He also told me that I should look at the brand of the basin before purchasing it.

I finally chose the longest-size wall hung wash basin for my house. I hope this information will be of help to you.

After working in the interior design industry for a while, I've learned how important choosing the correct wash basin size is. Let's explore the world of wash basin standard size and how to select the ideal fit for your bathroom.

  • Small Basins: These normally measure between 16 and 20 inches wide and are perfect for powder rooms or small bathrooms.

  • Medium-Sized Basins: With widths ranging from 20 to 24 inches, they are adaptable and suited for most bathrooms. Therefore, standard wash basin size in feet of this type is almost 2 feet.

  • Large, opulent basins: These standard wash basin size in inches often measure more than 24 inches wide, making them ideal for master bathrooms or those seeking a spa-like atmosphere.

  • Corner basins: With its triangular design and ability to slot neatly into corners, these basins are a space-saving option for bathrooms with limited space.

  • Wall-Mounted Basins: Offer height flexibility and can be tailored to your preferred size.

Selecting the Ideal Wash Basin Size:
