Our east-facing house is entirely vastu-compliant, and our toilet is placed in the south of southwest (SSW) direction of the home. I wasn’t aware of Vastu principles until we reconstructed our house about two years ago. My grandfather has a deep-rooted knowledge of Vastu, and so we all learnt it from him. Based on my knowledge and learnings, I have shared with you some tips on toilet position as per Vastu for east-facing house. 

Placement of a Toilet As Per Vastu for East Facing House

South of south-west direction of the home is the most ideal location for a toilet, as it is referred to as the disposal corner. Some other directions that my grandfather had suggested are.

• West of northwest (WNW), which is known as the ‘detox corner’.

• East of southeast (ESE), which is the ‘anxiety corner'. 

These locations have proved to discard the negative energy from the house. 

Direction to Avoid While Installing Toilets 

• There are directions you must avoid constructing your toilet at all costs. These include the North-east corner, which is known as the ‘ishaan kon’. This direction represents the origin of spiritual flow and it is believed that installing toilets here can disrupt the positivity, leading to health issues. 

• I also learned that one must avoid facing east or west while using the toilet. Instead, you can face towards north or south, in order to harmonise with the natural energy currents.
