Before starting with the construction work, I hired a Vastu expert to help me chalk out the house plan. I was well-aware of where the bedrooms should be built but did not know which was the best direction for the window in kitchen as per Vastu. After discussion, I learned that the
north-west direction is considered to be the best direction for kitchen window.
Where to Construct the Kitchen Window as per Vastu?
The kitchen is ruled by the fire element as per Vastu and the north-west direction is considered the most favourable for it. However, the expert also mentioned that if one does not have space in the north-west direction, he can opt for the south-east direction as well to construct the kitchen window. There is a reason for preferring these two directions for kitchen window construction.
In the old days, when cooking was primarily done on woodfird stoves, these corners were most preferred as the hot winds blowing from S-W to N-E could not damage the house by fire. The fire element governs the south-west direction and that is why it is the most favourable one.
Which is Not a Favourable Direction for Kitchen Window Construction as Per Vastu?
The Vastu expert instructed us not to construct our kitchen window in the north-east direction. The early sunrays enter the house from the north and east directions, so it's best to let the rays fall on your living space. Constructing a kitchen window in this direction is considered a waste of space so try to avoid constructing a kitchen window in this direction.
