A mandir is a sacred place where we worship God and this is why it is an epicenter of positive energy. Placing the mandir as per Vastu can bring happiness, prosperity, and health to your home and its members. In this answer, I will tell where should mandir be placed in house as per Vastu.

Where Should Be Mandir in House

Jupiter is the lord of the northeast direction (known as ‘Ishan Kona). “Ishan” means God in English and is the direction of Jupiter/God. This is why the best place to keep the mandir in the home is the northeast direction. If that does not work for you, then you can keep it in the east and north corners of your house. If nothing else works, then you can keep it in the west direction. However, you should never place the mandir in the south direction. Also, you should not keep the mandir against the wall of a bathroom or under a staircase as it’s considered inauspicious. This is all on where should the mandir be in the house.

As per Vastu, a temple kept in the center of your home (a region known as the Brahmasthan) is considered auspicious and can bring good health and prosperity to the occupants. You should try to face the east or the north direction while offering prayers.

Now you know according to Vastu where should be mandir placed.

Ideally, a mandir should be in placed in the east or north east direction in your home. While constructing your house ensure that the mandir room is separate. If there is a space crunch then you must make sure that mandir setting is above the floor level, i.e. it should not be placed directly on the floor.

While we are figuring out where should mandir be placed in house, I will share a few tips for placement of mandir in your house.

  • If a pooja room is in your bedroom or kitchen area, then you must hang a curtain as a separator.

  • It is advisable to not place mandir against a toilet wall or above or below toilet area.

  • Place your mandir on a higher platform

  • Make sure that you are using fresh flowers in the mandir everyday.

  • You can light candles and incense sticks to create a divine aura.
