Being a strong believer in Vastu principles, I tried to design my house in a Vastu compliant manner. After buying my dining table, I was in a dilemma about the dining table Vastu direction. However, after discussing the same from a Vastu expert I learned about its ideal placement.

The Vastu expert highlighted;

• According to Vastu Shastra, the energy your dining room draws in is greatly influenced by its placement. Place your dining room towards the west or northwest of your house. It is considered that this arrangement will bring wealth and prosperity. Avoid placing the dining room in the middle of your house or the bedroom, since these arrangements may impede the flow of positive energy.

• Vastu rules dictate that the head of the family should ideally face either the north or the east when eating at the dining table. This configuration is believed to improve digestion and encourage good conversation, creating a peaceful eating environment for everybody.

As per his advice, I have placed my dining table towards the west of my house.

I have recently purchased a dining table for my new flat. In order to find out the ideal dining table placement as per Vastu, I contacted my uncle, a Vastu specialist. He advised me to place the dining room table in the Southwest or Northwest of the house before moving into my new residence. It will guarantee health and positive energy.

It is thought that setting the dining table towards the southwest corner of the home can draw good energy and aid with digestion. Additionally, this position promotes family unity at mealtimes, which is thought to be crucial for preserving relationships and promoting harmony in the home.

• The northwest orientation, on the other hand, is related to the air element. It is recommended as the best place for dining table as per Vastu. This location is thought to improve the flow of good energy, ensuring the residents' wellness. It is advised to place the dining table in this corner close to a window or balcony.

For us Indians, the dining table is a place where all of the members of the family gather for meals and bond over food. Vastu experts are of the view that the dining table or the dining room is an auspicious room that symbolizes bonding, nourishment, and good health. This is because we get all of this from the food we eat and the company of people with whom we have our meals.
