1. Placement in the Bathroom: The expert mentioned that laundry baskets are best kept in the bathroom if they are used regularly. He advised to place it in the northwest corner of the bathroom, which is considered positive for Vastu. This ensures the flow of energy is not blocked by dirty laundry.

2. Bedroom Placement: If you prefer to keep your laundry basket in the bedroom, he suggested avoiding the northeast corner, as it’s believed to hinder positive energy. He guided me to place it in the southeast or northwest areas of the room.

3. Keeping it Clean and Covered: The professional emphasised that whether you keep it in the bathroom or bedroom, the basket should always be clean and ideally covered. A messy and open laundry basket could invite negative vibes, so he recommended getting a basket with a lid.

4. Avoid the Kitchen Area: One thing he was very clear about was not to place the laundry basket in the kitchen or near the main door. These areas are considered high-energy spaces, and dirty laundry 

might disrupt that balance.

Where Should I Put My Laundry Basket?

My grandma told me that the west and northwest directions are considered suitable zones for placing a laundry basket in Vastu. This is because these directions are associated with the element of water, which is symbolically related to cleanliness and purification.

• Keeping it in an open and ventilated area:

  She asked me to keep the laundry basket in a well-lit, open, and ventilated area. She also asked me to avoid placing it in cramped, dark, or enclosed spaces, as this can obstruct the flow of positive energy.

• Keeping it away from sleeping or living areas:

  She said that I should also make sure that I keep the laundry basket away from bedrooms, living rooms, or other areas where I spend significant time resting or socializing. This is because the lingering scent of laundry detergent or the sight of dirty clothes can disturb our relaxation or create a negative impression on guests.
