The energy consumption depends mainly on two things, the star rating and the technology used. The higher the star rating of your AC, the lower will be its consumption. You can save around 10% of energy with a 5-star AC when compared to a 4-star AC.

With an AC-supporting inverter technology, your power consumption would go down drastically. This is because the inverter AC’s compressor can work at different capacities according to the need.

Their electricity consumption is actually less than that of window ACs, so in the long run, they are actually profitable.
