. Since most people crave to live in peace after retirement, here is my suggestion on where to retire in India:

Dehradun: Located in the Himalayas, Dehradun has a nice climate, lots of greenery, and good healthcare. It's close to other hill stations and spiritual places making it a perfect choice for people wanting to live in a calm environment. 

Rishikesh: This place is known for yoga and spirituality, Rishikesh offers a peaceful environment by the Ganges River. It's a beautiful and serene place to live so you can consider settling here after retirement. 

Mysore: Mysore is rich in culture with palaces and markets. It has affordable living, a mild climate, and good healthcare. If you are willing to lead an ordinary life in a simple city, settle in Mysore. 

Kochi: This coastal city in Kerala offers a mix of modern and traditional lifestyles with beautiful backwaters. Kochi has great healthcare and delicious food making it a great choice for elderly people to live in.

Ooty: In the Nilgiri Hills,

has a cool climate and scenic beauty. It's a calm and lovely place to retire and get settled.
