I see more and more skyscrapers emerging in Indian cities. Especially in Delhi, Maharashtra, Bengaluru and more. In photographs from thirty-forty years ago, you could see small, low-rise residential compounds. Construction has given us the largest residential buildings and famous architectural structures. Let me throw a light on which is the largest residential building in India.

I think the Laxmi Vilas Palace is the largest private residence. The Palace is apparently four times bigger than Buckingham Palace. The towers within the boundary are as tall as 117 floors.

The World One, a residential tower which is under construction will become the world’s tallest residential tower at 1, 450 ft (442 metres). It is located in Mumbai.

I read a report that said, Mumbai accounts for more than 50 skyscrapers and Kolkata roughly accounts for 15. When I think of the biggest building in the world, my mind goes to Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Shanghai Tower in China and One World Trade Centre in the United States. 

The answer for which is the largest residential building in India is bound to change as more construction happens.
