In Hindu shastra, 5 months are not considered auspicious and they are: Bhadrapada, Paush, Ashadha, Shravan, and Ashwin. So do not ever perform any puja or do Griha Pravesh in these months.

Which Month is not Good for House Shifting?

As I mentioned, 5 months are considered inauspicious for Girha Parvesh or housewarming ceremony and those are: 

• Bhadrapada (August and September)

• Paush, (December/January)

• Ashadha, (June/July)

• Shravan, (late July and ending in late August) and 

• Ashwin (September and October)

It is believed that if you perform any puja or do Griha Pravesh in these months, evil eyes will follow you which might harm your family. This is why it's better you avoid these months. You can consider any of the 

• Vaishakh (April – May) 

• Magh (January – February)

• Jyeshtha (May-June) and 

• Phalgun (February – March) month is the best month for housewarming. 

The best will be to consult with a priest or purahit and be sure of the most auspicious date for your house shifting.
