The most expensive plot of land ever sold is situated at 2 Murray Road in the Central Business District of Hong Kong. On 16-05-2017, the Hong Kong government sold the plot measuring 31000 square feet for HK$ 23.28 billion (US$ 3,00,37,80,000) to local developer Henderson Land Development. This means, $96,896 per sq. ft. (or $10,42,979 per sq. m.).

The land was occupied by a 1970s multi-storey car parking at the time of the sale. Henderson Land Development has hired a very popular studio Zaha Hadid Architects for designing a 36-storey skyscraper in its place. This commercial tower will feature a sky garden, courtyards, banqueting hall, and so much more.
