Which paint is good for outer wall?

The paint on the outer walls of my house has started, and I decided to get it painted. To know which paint is best for outer walls, I called a painter and asked him about it. The painter told me there are different paint types that are best for the outer wall and provided me with a few options.

Which is the Best Paint for Outer Walls?

Here are the types of paints he told me would be best for outer walls.

Acrylic Paint 

He said this paint is the best choice as it's designed with high-quality ingredients that provide the paint elasticity. Acrylic paint is durable, long-lasting, and works well on the outer wall of the house. 

Latex Paint

The next paint type that he told me about was Latex paint. He said that this is a water-based paint and is easy to apply and clean 

Oil-based Paint

The final paint type that he told me about was oil-based paint. He told me that these paints are less common these days due to their hazardous fumes and the difficulties associated with cleaning them.

The outer wall gives you the thought to paint with different colours to make it more attractive. But this is never a good option. Instead, use different shades of the same colours to maintain the colour scheme.

When you are deciding to paint your wall you obviously want to use durable paint. Well, there are plenty of brands that promise durability. But you also need to think about the type of paint you want to use to paint your walls. Of course, you won't be choosing oil paint which will wash off immediately after heavy rainfall. I would personally recommend you to choose satin and eggshell outer wall paint colors. These types of colours can last up to ten years easily.

4. Vastu Compliant

Since I am an Indian, I believe in Vastu to maintain peace in my house. To me, I feel if you are purchasing a Vastu compliant house, you should do a significant amount of research in choosing a paint colour that is Vastu compliant. Colours such as green, yellow and purple are perfect for inviting positive energy to your home.

5. Decorate

Only painting your house with a pretty colour won't do if you are thinking about outer wall paint colours. Using high quality polished paints for windows and doors is required along with painting the outer walls. You can also decorate your house with Bougainvillea, Madhavi-latha plants to accentuate the colours of your house. Colour the borders such as the sunsets, gates, and railings of the roof with dark colours to make your house more attractive.

6. Painting Seasons

Painting your house during the summer season is the best option as your paint will not take much time to dry faster in turn the paint will maintain its durability for a long period of time. 

1. Paint colours

Paint your house with red, purple, pink, green and yellow. I feel these colours are attractive, vastu compliant and safe to use also. If you want to use darker shades I will suggest you to go for pale colours of darker shades.
