Banks are always open during the weekdays and on a few selected Saturdays. I wasn’t aware of that and came to know about it last Saturday, when I visited the bank and found it closed. I came back home and searched online about the bank timing and to learn bank is closed on which saturday. After that, I realised that the bank was closed because it was a second Saturday.
Which Saturdays are Bank Holidays in India?
From my research, I came to know that all banks are closed on 2nd Saturdays and 4th Saturdays. According to the RBI, all banks need to observe public holidays on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month. But the banks would remain open on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturday of every month.
Since this year is almost over and we are in the month of November and December, I have added a list for the number of Staurdays the banks would be closed in a list below.
