While my father was choosing the right Ganesha idol, he wondered which side Ganesha trunk is good for home, as it plays an important role.

• Before anything, he suggested going for the one where the trunk curves to the left.

• He said that, in most homes, including his, Ganesha idols with the trunk on the left are common, and there’s a reason for that. 

• The left-trunk Ganesha, also called Vamamukhi, is believed to bring peace, prosperity, and a soothing environment. This direction of the trunk symbolizes the Ida Nadi, which is connected to the moon and brings calm and nurturing energy. 

• After that, I’ve noticed that ever since we brought a left-trunk Ganesha into our home, there’s been a noticeable sense of harmony and relaxation, especially in family relationships.

• On the other hand, the priest also said that the right-trunk Ganesha is more intense and is usually placed in temples. It requires very specific rituals and care, and if not done correctly, it can create an imbalance in the household. That’s why my father decided to avoid keeping it at home.

So, if you want to invite good vibes and happiness into your home, I recommend choosing a Ganesha with a left-facing trunk. To simply answer your question, Ganpati trunk which side is good, I’d like to say that it should be on the left side.
