Hello! I might help out with this one. Recently, my geyser started tripping on the power, leaving me both confused and frustrated. It would happen randomly, especially during peak usage times when I needed hot water to take a bath. It was also making me concerned over mine and my family’s safety, so I looked up

why does my geyser trip the power

. I figured out some common reasons, like overloading the circuit or moisture buildup, and so on.

Why Does My Geyser Keep Tripping?

Initially, I found out that circuit overload can be a major contributing factor. My geyser might have exceeded the circuit's capacity because it was connected to a circuit that also powered other home appliances. I fixed this by unplugging a few unnecessary electronics and making sure the geyser had a separate circuit.

  • A faulty thermostat could be another factor. There are two heating elements in a regular geyser, but your thermostats only allow one of them to be on at a time. When your thermostat malfunctions, both elements can turn on, ‌causing the breaker to trip because it is receiving more electricity than it can manage.

  • I then looked for any signs of wear or damage on the plug and power cord. The breaker may trip because of short circuits caused by a damaged cord. In order to guarantee a secure connection, I tightened my plug after figuring out that it was a little loose.

  • I learnt this tripping could also be caused by moisture buildup around the electrical components of the geyser. My geyser was in a bathroom, so water splashes might have reached the wiring.

I finally hired the electrician from NoBroker to fix this issue, and the professional did it immediately. I hope this answers your query as well.
