Hi, if you are facing issues where your inverter isn’t charging, then I can tell you why inverter battery is not charging. Recently, I have also encountered the same issue and have got it solved with the help of an electrician. I hired the electrician through NoBroker and when he arrived, asked him about the issue. He told me that there could be a couple of reasons this issue was happening.
My Inverter is Not Charging the Batteries: What to do?
He started inspecting my inverter and after a few moments; he told me it wasn’t charging because the battery terminals had corroded. According to him, battery terminals get corroded when they come in contact with a lot of moisture or water and they start corroding.
He said during the initial phase of corroding the battery doesn’t stop charging completely but gradually the power backup shortens.
He then took out a metal brush and used that to clean the battery terminals and after that when he connected them back, the battery started charging again.
And that’s how my issue of battery not charging in inverter was solved. If you have the same issue, then hire a professional for the job.

Hi Parag. I too, faced the problem of the inverter not charging battery a while ago. After calling an electrician, I found out that the rectifiers in the inverter were burnt.
Apart from this, there are several other reasons behind the inability of the inverter to charge. I’ll tell you about those.
Why Inverter is Not Charging?
Rectifiers get burnt due to overuse or high heat. This leads to the non-charging of the inverter battery immediately.
Another reason is the tripping of the inverter. When the appliances use up excessive power under the inverter load, it will lead to the inverter turning off.
When the battery terminals of the inverter get corroded because of moisture, the charging can be affected.
Loose connections or no connections of the battery to the inverter can be the cause, too. So, check the connections and switch on the charging to see if it works now.
So, these are the four reasons why my inverter is not charging. Most of the issues here need an expert electrician.
Thus, I recommend you call one up instead of taking matters into your own hands. I hope you’ve now got your answer.

Low voltage from bad wiring or a dying battery was the primary common cause of my inverter failing to charge a battery. 1) Burst Fuse
The most frequent cause of fuses blowing is a short circuit when an electrical supply is used. When changing a blown fuse in your network, try to determine what caused it. Inspect all the wiring if the cause is a short circuit to prevent a fire. You may repair the blown fuse as soon as you identify the causes of the problem. This is one of the main methods to consider if the inverter battery not getting charged.
2) Unsecured Wiring
You need to connect the batteries and the inverter wires with safe, properly sized connections. The system will fail and the inverter may stop operating if the contact wire is weak. It's important to secure the wires. You need to give it a little force to check that they match. The battery may need cleaning or repair if the wires are properly positioned but are dusty or rusted. This could be the reason why my inverter battery is not charging.
3) Reduced Battery Voltage
You can fix poor battery voltage by using solar power to power up, then connect it to the inverter when there is sufficient power. The solar cells should have the proper size to recharge the battery for this to function. You need to power the battery, regardless of whether you choose a solar panel or some other source of energy. This will solve the low voltage problem. If not, though, there may be an issue with the wires or somewhere else. This is why inverter battery is not charging.
4) Battery Failure
Your battery won't be capable of holding a charge if it is exhausted or fast losing power. Investigate the battery's warranty if you wish to have it serviced or changed. And you can receive a free repair or free maintenance if it is currently covered. The battery should not be messed with since this will damage the warranty.
Now you know what to do if inverter mains on but not charging.
