Wallpapers add a lot of aesthetic value to a house. A lot of time is spent selecting the right wallpaper. After doing this arduous process, I did not have a great experience with it, Despite many attempts, I could not find out why is my wallpaper not sticking to wall.
Why is My Wallpaper Not Sticking at the Edges?
After doing some research on it, this is what I found:
I realised that I had not filled up holes and gaps in the wall. So I used a filler to tend to the holes and gaps. I saw that the filler and the wall should be fully dry before starting to wallpaper.
Any dust or remaining adhesive should be removed. This ensures the wallpaper does not become lumpy. The wall can be sanded which will give the adhesive a rough surface to stick to.
I found the wallpaper paste was a problem too. A couple of designs were heavy so this required a thick adhesive paste. Otherwise, the wallpaper would not stick to the wall. Checking which adhesive paste to use is very important.
If the adhesive paste is not mixed properly or if it has not been soaked enough, the wallpaper won't stick. If the wrong amount of adhesive is applied it will cause blisters or become too wet.
These are some problems due to which my wallpaper did not stick to the wall. I hope this answer was helpful and hope you will not repeat the same mistakes in wallpapering.
