Why is NOC from AAI for height clearance needed ?

Hey friend,

If you are planning on renting a house near the airport to buy a property in the vicinity/ You should know the importance of the airport authority of India NOC. It is a document you will need in the process. I will share all the rules and regulations set by AAI. 

AAI :

AAI or Airports Authority of India functions under the Ministry of Civil Aviation department under the Government of India Getting NOC from AAI for height clearance is necessary. It is a statutory requirement, details about it are mentioned in the Government of India’s Gazette Notifications GSR 751 (E).

Who needs to apply?

If your plot/ property is situated within 20 KM of the VFR civil airport or 56 KM of the IFR civil airport. If the height of the building is more than 150 M (ground level), you will need a NOC for height clearance from AAI before the construction begins.

Importance of getting NOC for getting for construction :

  • They might obstruct flights from landing safely at the airport. 

  • It might interrupt radar operations taken by officials. 

  • It is dangerous for residents who live in buildings near airports.

NOC/ No-Objection Certificate showcases that the building layout is in accordance with the rules set by AAI.
