Why My O General AC is Not Cooling?

A few months back, I bought a new O General AC as my old one was not cooling properly. But since last week, the new AC has also not been cooling my room properly. To find out about the issue, I called the AC technician who had installed the AC. I told him about the O General AC not cooling issues and asked him to come check it out.

After checking my AC, the technician told me that it was not cooling because of a dirty air filter. According to him, this is one of the most common reasons of ACs not cooling properly. Following that, he cleaned the air filter, and here is how he did it. 

• First, he switched off the ACs and disconnected the wires from the switchboard. 

• Next, he opened the AC panel and then removed the filters.

• Following that, he started cleaning the filter and evaporator with a soft toothbrush to remove the dirt. 

• He cleaned the filter by placing it under a running tap. 

• After it was washed, he left it to dry before putting it back in its place. 

And that’s what he did to fix my O General AC is not cooling issue. Before leaving, he told me to get the AC serviced every two months to keep these issues away. Hope this helps. 

O General AC not cooling down can be caused by several factors, some of which are non-technical and others of which are technical.

What are the Factors of O General AC Cooling Problems?

If you are wondering, “Why my O General AC is not cooling?” you can go through these factors;

• Untidy coils:

The condenser coils of the O General AC might get clogged. Similar to a radiator, the condenser in an air conditioner dissipates heat that was extracted from the air. Maintaining a clean condenser coil is necessary to release heat outdoors. The AC works harder to chill the space as it gets less efficient due to dirtier coils. The unit won't be able to effectively chill the room if the coils are dusty.

• Inadequate coolant:

After cooling the air passing over the evaporator coils, the coolant cycles through the coils and eventually releases cool air into the space. The O General AC thus stops cooling when the coolant level drops. 

• Faulty compressor:

The central component of an air conditioner, the compressor is what cools your room. The cooling cycle is halted and the O General AC is unable to cool if the compressor malfunctions.

• Breakable thermostat

A thermostat is a type of sensor that uses ambient temperature to determine when to turn on or off the cooling cycle in the compressor. The O General Air Conditioner may not cool at all or may cool constantly if the thermostat is broken.

• High temperature in the atmosphere:

An air conditioner can function optimally at a certain temperature. The efficiency of the air conditioner decreases when the temperature rises above the ideal threshold. There are moments when the heat is so intense outside that the compressor shuts down entirely.

• Small sized AC:

During hot summer, a small air conditioner in a large room will never be able to keep the room cold. The AC unit's dimensions should match up with the dimensions of the room.
