Why the twin towers will be demolition in Noida?On 28 August, the Twin towers in Noida were demolished to the ground. Earlier in the month, the Supreme Court had ordered the tallest buildings in Noida to be razed to the ground because the construction violated the minimum distance requirement.
According to the news the flats were built illegally without taking the consent of the individual flat owners as required under the UP Apartment Act. Noida authority had sanctioned the building plan of the Twin towers for 14 towers and nine floors only. The Supertech society had built forty floors in its stead. All 900 flats in an area of around 7.5 lakh sq. feet were ordered to be destroyed under the guidance of the Noida Authority. The towers were demolished in 9 seconds with 3,700 kilos of explosives. Explosives were installed on all forty floors. Neighbouring homeowners were asked to vacate the area for security reasons. Even cats and dogs were removed from the boundary.
