Chikkarayapuram Reviews and Ratings (6 Reviews)
No metro yet, only buses and local trains. Renters take flats because rents are cheap. But infrastructure still seems poor. Some roads are narrow or broken. Not many branded retail shops yet.
Chikkarayapuram is residential and peaceful place. Local roads still need repairs, especially after monsoon. My commute to doctor’s clinic is okay by auto. No real shopping complex, just small shops. Park space is limited and not well maintained. Garbage collection is inconsistent.
Chikkarayapuram has good public transport, frequent buses and local trains. Lots of food stalls, juice shops and one trendy cafe close by. There’s a small park where I go for evening walks. The area is well lit at night, very safe. Parking is available but tight if you have a car.
I moved here recently. Metro accessibility isn’t close, so I depend on bus or auto. Roads near the main junction are smooth, but the inner lanes are dusty and bumpy. Rents are low so that's good. No big gyms nearby, only couple of budget fitness centres. Schools and clinics are a short drive away, but not walking distance.
Chikkarayapuram is a developing residential area situated in the western part of Chennai, near Kundrathur and Porur. This area offers a calm and peaceful environment, with basic amenities such as schools, hospitals, and supermarkets available. It is connected by buses and trains, though there is currently no metro access. It'd be a perfect choice for families and students seeking a quiet living environment.
Chikkarayapuram is a peaceful residential locality. The rail station is a short auto‑ride away. Traffic gets heavy around Main Road at peak hours. There are a few decent cafes and a gym nearby. Rents are affordable compared to the city centre. Roads inside the colony are clean, though some side lanes get potholes after monsoon.
